Portion sizes and pricing swing widely across this group, from a $10 lunch bowl to a multi-course tasting menu at an upscale sushi counter, so checking recent reviews and photos is more useful than the price range alone. In Syracuse, dinner reservations for popular izakaya, hot pot and Korean BBQ spots fill up on Friday and Saturday nights, so booking ahead or arriving at opening is worth it. Many restaurants across New York run daily lunch specials on weekdays that are not listed on the dinner menu, so it is worth asking. Halal, vegetarian and gluten-free options vary a lot by kitchen; call ahead if you have a dietary restriction rather than assuming the menu will note it.

Syracuse is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Getting around Syracuse is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across New York's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Chorong House is a small place that has AMAZING Korean cuisine and bold flavors! My partner and I dropped by on a drive from Boston to Detroit, so this was the perfect detour to stop for lunch. Make sure to bring cash, because it's so worth it. This restaurant is family-owned, so all the more reason to go!

Itβs SO GOOD!! Tiny restaurant with delicious food and friendly staff. You can tell the food is made to order and it is WORTH IT. Donβt sleep on this gem! FYI- there was one meat eater with me (Iβm a vegetarian).

Love their crispy seafood pancakes and stir fried kimchi with pork! Kimchi is so flavorful. Havenβt had great kimchi for a long time. Their pickled radish and bean sprouts are awesome. The owner is so friendly, welcoming, and attentive!

Love the vibe honestly. If youβre intimidated by the location or cuisine, donβt be!! The entree flavors are very approachable and the owner (Chorong) is super duper friendly. We learned this family business as been here for nearly 30 years! Nice and quaint lil spot! Vegetable pancake is seriously deliciousβa must get in my opinion. Fried dumplings are also great.
